Happy Anniversary

Erik and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary today. I decided to try my dress on. Aiden loved it and thought I looked like a princess, but Z was very upset. He kept crying and saying, "off! Off!" A took this picture of me!

Isn't it great that Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to celebrate with us by having their wedding on ours!

Easter

We had several easter egg hunts. First, we saw the Easter bunny fly down in a helicopter, and had an egg hunt at the air and space museum. Second, we had an egg hunt at our local park, then one at our home. Z did not like the bunny!!!

Red light twinkle!

We had a short launch today to try getting a video on a C-class engine. Only two rockets at this point, due to time and my somewhat limited toddler management skills (it's hard to chase a rocket over uneven ground while holding a toddler in the crook of your arm. No, really, try it sometime!).

This may be the last video launch on this lifting body. From this and the previous launch videos, it seems that I don't have the fins aligned properly and they induce a spin during ascent, making it really difficult to get quality video. Or at least video of the quality I'd like. Could be a result of multiple fin repairs after the parachute failed to deploy on 3 of 4 previous launches. On the plus side, the parachute deployed properly this time around, and my video editing skills have advanced enough that the descent video is actually watchable! Yay! (unfortunately, video quality is significantly limited by this blog, and the fact that the original is 55MB)

Z-man may not be talking a whole lot (but that is changing), but it's quite obvious that he understands exactly what is going on (and apparently doesn't like launches!).

You may note that there are three prior videos with this rocket, but this is launch #5. Well, thanks to engrish instructions and my lack of testing the video capture, I managed to turn the video camera OFF just prior to the 4th launch, then back on upon recovery. So I had a wonderful 30 minute video of the back of the car on the ride home.

Instruction example: Turn on: in power off mode (all the indicate off), long press ON/OFF button, red light and blue light on at the same time, then blue light on, means device on video recording mode. Caution: Trun on the device, if in video recording mode ,device start video recording directely, if device in take photo mode(red light twinkle). [sic]

Note: there is no blue light :)

Amen!

We were saying the blessing before dinner and Aiden and Zander were being so cute so I had them do it again. It is hard to see, but Zander alternates between closing his eyes tightly and looking around. Is Zander a little parrot, or what!

Mon, Feb 28

Besides both boys being insanely cranky, they were so sweet at times.

Aiden decorated a postcard he received from his Aunt Mere. She sent him little jewel stickers last week. This morning, he decided the manatee on his postcard needed a little more pizazz so he put jewel stickers over its eyes. A little creepy!!!

Aiden did a "blind" taste test of two different berry pies. I bought one from Marie Callendars and one from Shari's. He wore a blindfold as I gave him tastes of each. He decided he liked Shari's best, but decided he wanted to have a piece of the Marie Callendar's pie...it seemed like he didn't want to hurt its feelings :-)

Zander stood at the top of the stairs calling "Papa, Papa" until Erik came and then Z kept waving and saying "hi." A few minutes later, Z called again and this time started singing, "Goodnight Mama, Goodnight Papa." Aiden decided he couldn't let Z have all the attention so he began singing too. I wish I had it on video.

Aiden decided that he was "traveling" tonight as he got ready for bed. He had his backpack on and dragged around his wheeled suitcase. He traveled from his room to my bathroom to brush his teeth. Then, he traveled to his bathroom to pee and wash his hands. Then traveled back to my room to put on his jammies. His final travels took him to his room for stories. Oh, and at one point he thought I'd gone downstairs so he walked with his luggage down the stairs--ka-thunk, ka-thunk, ka-thunk, all the way down and then back-up.

February Snow!

Mr. A. woke me up today to tell me it was snowing. He immediately opened my shade and asked if I'd believed him. It was snowing, but not sticking. 45 minutes later it was sticking! It has stopped now, but at least we had a chance to make a small snowman!

Z Sings

Z started singing last night when I was putting him to bed. I got it on video today!
