Dinner Blessing

While sitting at dinner, Aiden grabbed Erik and my hands and said, "I want to say a blessing." Erik and I looked at each other and at Aiden and said, "Okay." He held our hands, lowered his head, and squeezed his eyes shut and said, "Thank you for the baby...my baby brother...my big boy...my big boy bed...thank you for my baby brother...Amen" He did this several times. I had just told Aiden an hour or so before this point that I'd ordered him a "big boy bed." Apparently, he's excited both about his bed and his coming baby brother :-)

Airplane No-No

Aiden and I were flying to Minnesota for my Grandpa Molvik's funeral. As Aiden was eating a snack he began pretending that it was an airplane. We commonly do this. Sometimes when we play this game, the "airplane" goes behind the clouds, sometimes it is about to crash and we make sound effects. Well, this particular time, Aiden decided his snack airplane was going to crash. He said in a loud voice several time, on the airplane, "Oh, no the airplane is going to crash!!!" I was mortified. I worry about the white-knuckle fliers and undercover airplane marshals. Thankfully, I was able to distract Aiden from his snack activity and keep him from continuing his announcement!

Paper Pile

Aiden loves his paper pile. It is currently our acting living room. It is better than a pile of leaves--this is clean, dry, and relatively warm.
